First Look: Chicago Cubs homestand against Rockies

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs kick off a three-game homestand against the Colorado Rockies at Wrigley Field with a celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month Friday, September 16, followed by Sesame Street Day and HBCU Day, both scheduled for Sunday, September 18.

Hispanic Heritage Day

To celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Cubs will host Hispanic Heritage Day at the ballpark Friday, September 16, the same day the club will celebrate Roberto Clemente Day. For Hispanic Heritage Day, fans can enjoy a mariachi band, pop-up El Tesoro Tequila bar and a Jewel-Osco activation pregame at Gallagher Way. Inside the ballpark, fans can enjoy specialty concession items at the Sheffield Corner concession stand including a Cuban sandwich, elote nachos and sope.

Cubs fans interested in attending the September 16 game have the opportunity to secure a special-edition Los Cubs sugar skull bobblehead through the Hispanic Heritage Day Special Ticket Offer. Bobbleheads can be redeemed at the northwest corner of Gallagher Way on gameday and a portion of the proceeds from each Hispanic Heritage Day Special Ticket Offer will go to the National Museum of Mexican Art.

Sesame Street Day

On Sunday, September 18, fans can enjoy a childhood classic at the ballpark with Sesame Street Day! The joyous day will include photo opportunities for fans, live music and a live artist demonstration at Gallagher Way pregame. Inside the ballpark, fans can enjoy Sesame Street Day-themed concession items including a Cookie Monster Ice Cream Helmet (served in Section 128 only), Bert and Ernie’s Favorite Grilled Cheese and Telly’s Twisted Tater, available at the Sheffield Corner concession stand.

For Sesame Street Day, fans can secure a ticket to the 1:20 p.m. CDT game against Colorado and a special-edition Cookie Monster bobblehead through the Sesame Street Day Special Ticket Offer. Bobbleheads can be redeemed at the northwest corner of Gallagher Way on gameday.

HBCU Day

A celebration for HBCU students, alumni and fans will take place at the ballpark Sunday, September 18. Fans interested in attending can secure a ticket to the game and a special-edition Cubs and HBCU hat through the HBCU Special Ticket Offer which can be redeemed at the northwest corner of Gallagher Way on gameday.
