Cubs busted 'smuggling' Wisconsin beer on team bus

by - Senior Editor -

It was a difficult last two games for the Cubs against the first place Brewers as the North Siders were shut out in back-to-back games.

The Cubs needed a pick me up and decided to load up several cases of New Glarus' Spotted Cow beer on their bus and take the brew back across the Illinois border.

The popular brewery released a statement about the smuggled beer.

"We are always happy to help with the tourism in Wisconsin," spokesperson Deb Carey said. "We're really glad they only took beer back and not a series win over the Milwaukee Brewers."

The beer is only sold in Wisconsin and it appears that the Brewers now have proof that the Cubs enjoy Wisconsin beer. In the battle of which city has better beer, this round certainly goes to Wisconsin.
