The Chicago Cubs have designated lefty starting pitcher Brett Anderson for assignment after activating him today from the 60-day disabled list.

Anderson was booed heavily by the Wrigley Field faithful in his last home start and has allowed a crazy 19 runs in only 22 innings pitched as a newcomer this season with the Cubs. In his last two games, he got only five total outs, gave up 12 runs, and allowed 13 hits.

In his limited action this season with the Cubs, he was 2-2 with 8.18 ERA, 16 strikeouts, and 2.09 WHIP. For his career, he was 40-45 with 3.99 ERA, 523 strikeouts, and 1.34 WHIP.
