Cubs lineup vs. Reds, Lackey starting

The Chicago Cubs (66-57) will take on the Cincinnati Reds at 6:10 PM CDT on Tuesday night televised on WGN-TV and MLB Network. The Cubs are in sole possession of first place ahead of the rival St. Louis Cardinals by 2.5 games in the National League Central division.

The North Siders are currently 7-3 in their last ten games.

Righty starter John Lackey will start for the defending World Champions opposed by righty Homer Bailey.

In 2017, Lackey has a 10-9 record with 4.67 ERA and 115 strikeouts. He has a 3.06 ERA in his last six starts.

Willson Contreras will still be out of the lineup for at least a few more weeks dealing with his hamstring injury. However, he was seen on Tuesday afternoon doing some light jogging drills in the outfield.

Injured shortstop Addison Russell was also seen doing some running drills and Jon Lester was seen throwing catch with trainers.
