According to Cubs insider Bruce Levine, the Cubs are working on a deal to bring back Morrow. "The Chicago Cubs working with relief specialist Brandon Morrow on coming back," he posted. "It would be a minor league deal. Most likely end of December conclusion." Theo Epstein said the following about Morrow's future during his postseason press conference. “When healthy, he can certainly be a big part of the solution,” Epstein said. “We appreciate his sentiments about, if he’s going to sign a Minor League deal, he feels there’s a responsibility that it should be here. That certainly seems like the type of thing that should make sense for both sides down the road.” There isn't much risk signing the 35-year old to a minor league deal and having him around for spring training next season. Why would anybody be mad that the Cubs are going to re-sign Brandon Morrow to a minor league deal? They paid him to rehab last year and he wants to come back and actually pitch for them.
