Cubs News: Rizzo comments about school shooting at his alma mater |
Horrible news to report as a tragic shooting has taken place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. on Wednesday afternoon.
Right now, the latest casualty report is 17 dead according to the local law enforcement. This school is very beloved and dear to Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo as it is his alma mater and a place that he just donated $150,000 to help improve the lights at their baseball fields in November. Rizzo posted a message of support to his community back in Florida. "Parkland and Coral Springs please stay strong! This is out of control, and our country is in desperate need for change," Rizzo said. "I hope In this darkest of times back home this brings everyone together and we can find love. You’re all in my prayers." Our heart goes out to the students and families impacted by today’s tragedy at @ARizzo44's high school in Parkland, FL.
