WATCH: Baez destroys baseball on 408-foot two-run blast |
PHOENIX — Going yard for the second time in as many days in the desert, Chicago Cubs infielder Javier Baez skied a two-run blast to provide the Cubs with an early lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Tuesday. Hammering a 408-footer, Baez plated Daniel Murphy and put the Cubs ahead 2-0 in the opening inning.
Coming on an 87-mile-per-hour slider thrown by D-backs starter Matt Andriese, the dinger sailed over the wall in center field after leaving the bat at 107 miles per hour. The two-out round-tripper marked Baez's 33rd home run of the season and increased his RBI total to 107. Javy walks the walk. #EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/hl6oqbAH4F
