WATCH: Happ sends Wrigley into a frenzy with go-ahead three-run blast |
CHICAGO — Entering the Chicago Cubs' Friday night matchup with the Cincinnati Reds having not recorded a hit in nine days, Cubs outfielder Ian Happ broke out of that slump in a major way. Snapping a scoreless drought for the Cubs with a go-ahead three-run homer, Happ put the Cubs up 3-2 over the Reds in the bottom of the seventh.
Driving a two-seamer thrown over the middle by Reds reliever David Hernandez over the wall in left field, Happ incited a cacophony of cheers from the fans in attendance at Wrigley Field. With his 15th dinger of the season, Happ powered out a 398-foot shot that left the bat at 110 miles per hour.
