WATCH: Russell hits 408-foot bomb for his first homer of season |
Going yard for the first time since last June, Chicago Cubs second baseman
Addison Russell connected on a 4-seamer thrown by Cincinnati Reds starter Sonny Gray on Wednesday and drilled a 408-foot home run. The 2-run blast put the Cubs ahead 2-1 in the top of the second.
Marking the first homer for Russell since he recently returned from his suspension, the dinger sailed off the bat at 105 miles per hour and carried well over the wall in center field at Great American Ball Park. Center fielder Albert Almora Jr. scored on the dinger after he started the 2-out rally with a single in the previous at-bat. #Cubs lead 2-1 after two innings in Cincinnati. pic.twitter.com/C3qcPf7ecK
