by - Senior Editor -

Cubs fan were excited with the prospect of a NLCS Game 3 win with Jake Arrieta on the mound against Dodgers veteran lefty Rich Hill.

However, Rich Hill pitched a gem with his huge curveball while Arrieta gave up four earned runs on six hits including two homers in a 6-0 win for the Dodgers to put them up in the series 2-1.

“I’ll pitch again,” Arrieta said via the Chicago Sun-Times. “If I’m needed, if a game is on the line, I’ll be available. Tomorrow, the next day, whenever.”

“We’ve got to win three before they win two. That's it,” Arrieta said.

In two postseason starts, Arrieta has pitched 11 innings giving up 12 hits, six runs, a walk, and ten strikeouts.

Arrieta was 18-8 with a 3.10 ERA with 190 strikeouts and a 1.08 WHIP in the regular season.
