Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect 9th inning on Sunday night a Wrigley Field's DJ played the 1997 hit song "Smack my Bitch up" as he walked off the field.
"We apologize for the irresponsible music selection during our game last night," Cubs said in a statement via ESPN's Jesse Rogers. "The selection of this track showed a lack of judgment and sensitivity to an important issue. We have terminated our relationship with the employee responsible for making the selection and will be implementing stronger controls to review and approve music before public broadcast during our games." The music selection was troubling with Chapman's recent suspension in October for a domestic violence incident where he choked his girlfriend and fired eight gunshots according to reports. Chapman has a 1.80 ERA with 24 saves, 57 strikeouts, and a 0.75 WHIP. For his career, he has a 2.14 ERA with 170 saves, 603 strikeouts, and a 0.99 WHIP.
