ESPN ranks Schwarber as a Top 4 left fielder

Everyone knows that Cubs OF/C Kyle Schwarber can rake and is a potential superstar since he has flashed with the Cubs in his two seasons at the professional level.

However, how impressive is he stacked up to his peers at left field in the rest of the major leagues?

ESPN's Buster Olney released his latest article ranking the top left fielders in the game and had Schwarber ranked #4th best behind only Yoenis Cespedes, Starling Marte, and Ryan Braun.

"There must have been moments during the Cubs’ 103-win regular season when front-office execs wondered how they could’ve been even better had they not lost Schwarber to a knee injury in April," Olney said. "Schwarber’s remarkable comeback in the World Series was a reminder of how good of a hitter he is. While the Cubs will try him in different spots under various circumstances in 2017, left field figures to be his primary spot -- perhaps at the top of the order as the team’s new leadoff hitter."

During the 2016 World Series, he hit .412 with seven hits, a double and two RBIs to help the Cubs win their first World Series in over 100 years.

In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an outstanding .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season.

He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the first round (4th overall) in the 2014 MLB Draft.
