Ross: "I'm connected to the Cubs for life"

by - Senior Editor -

Cubs fan favorite David Ross might be coming back to the team in some capacity for 2017. He made such an impact in his two years with the Cubs that the majority of Cubs Nation including his former teammates would love for him to come back to the ballclub.

“I’m still going to stay in baseball,” Ross said to CSN's Patrick Mooney. “I feel like I’m connected to the Cubs for life – or (at least) I want to be. For me to not take advantage of the knowledge that front office has would be naïve.

“There’s a lot of Hall of Famers in that front office. And I want to get to know that side of things. So, yeah, I’m sure there’s something that’s going to work out in the future with the Cubs.

It sounds like Ross could be back with the Cubs in 2017 and that would be great news with all the young players still on the Cubs roster.

Ross batted .229 with ten homers and 32 RBIs in his final season in the majors.
