Cubs News: Schwarber tosses his hat to young fan during parade

by - Senior Editor -

Cubs young slugger Kyle Schwarber celebrated with his teammates their first World Series title for the cubs since 1908 during the Victory Parade last week.

However, Schwarber remembered it is still about fans as he threw his World Series baseball hat to 8-year old fan Noah Perez in a wheelchair.

“Oh my God, that’s just amazing. Knowing that Noah loves to watch the Cubs. You know, he can’t play sports but his heart drives for baseball,” Noah’s mother told ABC 7 Chicago on Friday morning.

Schwarber continues to rehab and hopes to be able to be healthy enough to play in the outfield and catch when spring training starts.

In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an outstanding .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season.
