Vegas odds for Bears vs. Chargers

by - Correspondent -

With a rookie quarterback on the field, the Bears were able to put up 30 points on the Las Vegas Raiders last week. Tyson Bagent seems to be the starter again for this game, and going against the Los Angeles Chargers (7:20 p.m./NBC), there are high expectations for a high-scoring game again.

Things seem to be working for the Bears a little better than they were earlier in the season, defensively. However, with talents like Justin Herbert, Austin Ekeler, and Keenan Allen on the field, there are surely going to be a lot of points scored. That is a contributing factor in why the Chargers are 8.5-point favorites to win this game.

There is currently an over-under of 46.5. Last week, these teams scored a combined 47 points, just greater than the over-under. However, given the offensive talent on both teams, specifically DJ Moore for the Bears, this seems like a game to take the over on. Also, the Bears have covered the over in all of their games this season, except their loss to the Minnesota Vikings in week six.

Moore is the safest player to make bets on for this game. His over-under for receptions is 4.5. He has not had under five receptions since week three in the 41-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, so, it seems unlikely that will happen against the Chargers.

What may be more interesting is the over-under for receiving yards which is set at 58.5. He has been under that total the past two weeks but had two 100-yard games before that. However, given the Chargers are the worst passing defense in yards per attempt, and Moore has had at least eight receptions in each of the past four games, it seems that he will go over 58.5 receiving yards.

If running back Roschon Johnson is not able to play, the next running backup would be D’Onta Foreman. Foreman had three touchdowns against the Raiders, tied for the most in a game in his career. If Johnson cannot play, Foreman seems like a good candidate for an any-time touchdown scorer.

The Chargers allowing so many yards per attempt helps Bagent. His over-under for passing yards is 204.5. He had 162 passing yards against the Raiders, but Bagent will most likely need to have a 200-yard game, or more, for the Bears to stay in the game in this one. I would bet on him having over 204.5 passing yards.
