Cubs lineup vs. Mets, Contreras to sit |
Friday night's batting lineup for the second game of a four-game series between the Cubs (30-23) and the New York Mets (27-27) at 6:10 p.m. CDT at Citi Field will be the following:
1. Ben Zobrist LF 2. Jason Heyward RF 3. Kris Bryant 3B 4. Anthony Rizzo 1B 5. Albert Almora Jr. CF 6. Javier Baez 2B 7. Addison Russell SS 8. Chris Gimenez C 9. Tyler Chatwood P Standout catcher Willson Contreras gets the day off as veteran Chris Gimenez gets the nod. He was probably inserted into the starting lineup because of his excellent framing ability which could come in handy with a possible erratic Chatwood during the contest. Cubs will have Chatwood on the mound (3-4, 4.10 ERA) against righty Zack Wheeler (2-4, 5.40 ERA).
