Cubs News: Max Scherzer leaves game with injury |
The Chicago Cubs will be playing the Washington Nationals in the NLDS next week.
However, significant news happened as Nationals' ace Max Scherzer left the game with a lower-body injury after the trainer Paul Lessard came out to see him in the fourth inning on Saturday night. No word yet if the injury is severe or if the team is just taking precautionary measures during his last regular-season start. The 33-year old ace has a 2.51 ERA with 268 strikeouts this season. Update: He has a right hamstring cramp and will take a precautionary MRI tonight. Scherzer Leg Issue. [To avoid rampant #PitchingTwitter speculation.] pic.twitter.com/MhUjnMVRDr
