WATCH: Almora powers 415-foot solo bomb out to opposite field |
Punctuated by an emphatic leg kick that would make former Cub Alfonso Soriano proud, Chicago Cubs center fielder
Albert Almora Jr. powered out an opposite-field blast to put the Cubs on the scoreboard against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. Using the leg lift to garner some extra juice for his swing, Almora nailed a 415-foot dinger to right-center to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Reds in the bottom of the second.
Almora's sixth home run of the season, the solo blast came on a fastball thrown by Reds starter Tyler Mahle. The round-tripper, which left the bat at 28 degrees and 103 miles per hour, increased Almora's 2019 RBI total to 19. Four of Almora's six jacks have come in the last week and a half. .@albertalmora’s 5th home run of the month! #EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/0mEB20uwcD
