WATCH: Javier Baez obliterates pitch on 443-foot three-run bomb |
PITTSBURGH — Carrying forth with the Chicago Cubs' recent homer-hitting tear,
Javier Baez crushed a 443-foot rainmaker at PNC Park on Wednesday. Baez lofted a go-ahead three-run jack out to left, putting the Cubs ahead 3-1 over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Baez's sixth dinger of the year increased his RBI total to 18. Willson Contreras, who singled earlier in the frame, and Anthony Rizzo, who doubled, were plated via the fourth-inning jack. Nick Tropeano gave up the three-run shot on the first pitch of his relief appearance.
