CINCINNATI — Powering out three home runs in the first four and a half innings, the Chicago Cubs took a 4-1 lead on the Cincinnati Reds, all thanks to the home-run ball.
Reds starting pitcher Tyler Mahle caught the brunt of the barrage, and the third of the home runs that he was charged with giving up came off the bat of Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist. Traveling 353 feet, the dinger had a launch angle of 37 degrees and an exit velocity of 92 miles per hour.
