WATCH: Albert Almora Jr. crushes 438-foot rocket out to center field |
PITTSBURGH — The rockets' red glare pales in comparison to the bomb hit off the bat of Chicago Cubs center fielder
Albert Almora Jr. on the Fourth of July. Crushing a 438-foot blast out beyond center field at PNC Park on Thursday, Almora put the Cubs up 2-0 over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the top of the second.
The dinger came on a fastball thrown by Pirates starter Jordan Lyles. After Kris Bryant went yard for the Cubs in the first frame, Almora answered with a solo dinger of his own in the second inning. The moonshot, which marked Almora's eighth long ball of the year, left the bat at a speed of 106 miles per hour and an angle of 24 degrees. .@albertalmora launches! #EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/2cE1WQyo1p
