Weather update for Sunday's Cubs-Nationals game |
The weather radar doesn't look good for this afternoon's game between the Cubs and Nationals in Washington D.C. at 12:35 p.m. on NBC Sports Chicago.
The current radar shows rain for most of the day and it lets up around 8 p.m. ET. We will keep you updated if the start time is moved because of rain in the area. Check back often for the latest weather updates as this appears to be another long and rainy day in D.C. Update: The game is now in an official rain delay. The Nationals just posted the following information: We’re still in a delay due to inclement weather while we await MLB’s decision regarding today’s game. We are expecting more inclement weather today. 1) It’s raining & has rained all day. 2) No idea if we’ll play or not. 3) While forecast looks dire there are no good solutions to a postponement. So this decision isn’t a no-brainer. It’s also out of my hands so if we play you will see me on TV for awhile today, if not you won’t Maddon said he's never experienced a whole weekend of weather like this. Not sure what happens if game is cancelled. Cubs prefer not to come back Thur. (obviously) “I’m looking at the three different weather services and none of it looks good,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. “This is a first with this intensity throughout the entire weekend, especially this time of the year. Normally by this time, the weather seems to straighten out.” This is what the radar looks like at game time for Cubs-Nats in D.C. Sunday. It's been like that all morning and there are zero signs of it letting up until 8 p.m. (EST). Three hours until “scheduled” first pitch: pic.twitter.com/ygRW5vIPtG
