Cade is in his fourth professional season with the Cubs, first as a non-roster invitee to Major League Spring Training...Is 6-5 with a 3.15 ERA (43 ER/122.2 IP) and 157 strikeouts in 30 career Minor League starts, all with the Cubs organization...At the beginning of the 2025 season, was ranked by MLB Pipeline as the Cubs' No. 2 prospect and the No. 52 overall prospect in baseball...Was named the Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2023, after going 4-4 with a 2.65 ERA (26 ER/88.1 IP) and 117 strikeouts in 21 starts...Following the 2023 campaign, was named a Baseball America Minor League All-Star, All-MiLB Prospect Second Team and MiLB.com Organizational All-Star...Was selected by the Cubs in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2022 draft...Attended the University of Oklahoma, where he was originally committed to play both baseball and football...Graduated from Norman High School (Okla.).

2024
Cade was limited to nine starts in 2024 with Double-A Tennessee (four starts) and Triple-A Iowa (five starts), going 2-1 with a 4.46 ERA (17 ER/34.1 IP)...Began the season with the Smokies, going 1-0 with a 1.10 ERA (2 ER/16.1 IP) in four starts...Allowed one earned run or fewer in all four of his outings...Tossed five scoreless inning with six strikeouts April 27 at Rocket City...Was promoted to the I-Cubs April 30...Made five starts with Iowa prior to being placed on the injured list May 30 with a right lat strain...missed the remainder of the season with the injury...Following the season, ranked by MLB Pipeline as the Cubs' No. 3 prospect, MLB's No. 8 RHP prospect and MLB's No. 42 overall prospect.

2023
Was named the Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2023, after going 4-4 with a 2.65 ERA (26 ER/88.1 IP) and 117 strikeouts in 21 starts with Single-A Myrtle Beach, High-A South Bend and Tennessee...Struck out 117 batters in 88.1 IP, good for a 33.5% strikeout rate and 11.92 SO/9.0 IP ratio...Struck out a season-high 10 batters over 5.0 scoreless innings June 7 vs. Lansing...Allowed three runs or fewer in each of his final nine starts of the campaign (1.82 ERA)…Was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week on July 2, after striking out seven in 5.2 scoreless innings June 29 at Beloit...Following the season, earned Baseball America Minor League All-Star, All-MiLB Prospect Second Team and MiLB. com Organizational All-Star honors.

2022
Did not pitch during the 2022 season after being drafted by the Cubs in July.
