Another Indians pitcher will quarantine after a violation of team protocol

by - Senior Editor -

Cleveland Indians have another pitcher in quarantine.

Starting pitcher Mike Clevinger was scheduled to start against the Cubs on Tuesday but has been instructed to quarantine because of a violation of team protocol and will undergo subsequent testing while away from the team.

Clevinger left the team hotel with teammate Zach Plesac in Chicago on Saturday night.

Righty Adam Plutko will start in his place.

"The Cleveland Indians will continue to keep the health and safety of our players, coaches, and staff members as our top priority," the team said in a statement.

What makes this situation a little unsettling is that Clevinger flew back on the team plane on Saturday.
