Cubs News: Carl Edwards Jr. on his demotion: "It was very humbling"

by - Senior Editor -

Talented reliever Carl Edwards Jr. has already had an interesting 2019 season as he has rejoined the Cubs after his recent demotion to Triple-A Iowa.

Edwards told reporters on Monday that his time in Iowa worked out well.

"It was very humbling," Edwards said. "It got me back to where I am comfortable pitching now with a lot of confidence. I take it as I hit bottom, so the only way I could come was to go up. It is really great being back up here with the guys."

In seven minor league appearances, he went 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA with seven strikeouts in seven relief appearances.

Edwards will be at the stadium and available to pitch tonight against the Marlins.
