Cubs News: Carl Edwards Jr. on his demotion: "It was very humbling" |
Talented reliever Carl Edwards Jr. has already had an interesting 2019 season as he has rejoined the Cubs after his recent demotion to Triple-A Iowa.
Edwards told reporters on Monday that his time in Iowa worked out well. "It was very humbling," Edwards said. "It got me back to where I am comfortable pitching now with a lot of confidence. I take it as I hit bottom, so the only way I could come was to go up. It is really great being back up here with the guys." In seven minor league appearances, he went 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA with seven strikeouts in seven relief appearances. Edwards will be at the stadium and available to pitch tonight against the Marlins. CJ Edwards says this feels like the first time he was called up all over again.
