The new guy in town Daniel Murphy will get his first start with the Cubs.
Wednesday night's batting lineup for the first between the Cubs (71-52) and the Tigers (52-74) at 6:10 p.m. CDT will be the following: 1. Daniel Murphy 2B 2. Javier Baez SS 3. Anthony Rizzo 1B 4. Ian Happ LF It will be a pitching battle between Lester (13-5, 3.72 ERA) and lefty Francisco Liriano (3-8, 4.72). Murphy will be batting leadoff and play second base for the first time for the Cubs. This is the second time that he has batted leadoff this season and thirteenth of his career. He will wear No. 3 tonight and the last time that No. 3 jersey was wore with the Cubs was with catcher David 'Grandpa' Ross. The Cubs will try to break an offensive streak of only scoring one run on a solo homer for five straight games. Addison Russell is out of the lineup and might be headed to a possible DL stint.
