MILWAUKEE – The Chicago Cubs have placed left-handed pitcher Mike Montgomery on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 5) with a mild left lat strain and optioned right-handed pitcher Carl Edwards, Jr. to Triple-A Iowa. To make room for Webster on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Jen-Ho Tseng has been designated for assignment.
Both Ryan and Webster will be available for the Cubs tonight when they continue their three-game series at the Milwaukee Brewers.
