Cubs News: David Ross will not rule out coming back next season

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs veteran catcher David Ross has already declared that he will be hanging up his cleats after the 2016 baseball season.

Ross is batting .224 with four homers and 17 RBIs this season while framing pitches beautifully and throwing out runners at a very high level.

Is he still sure about this whole retirement thing?

"There's a lot of talk because we're doing well and I'm doing a lot better than I did last year that I should play another one but let's get to September and October and see where we're at and see how my body feels," Ross said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.

"I'm pretty comfortable going home if that's the end result. A lot of things would have to line up for me to come back to baseball. There would have to be a lot of perfect storms. I'm not ruling it out, but I'm definitely planning on going home."

"I mean, I like money," Ross said jokingly. "Tell everybody I'm not turning down a qualifying offer (around 15 million) if one is made to me."
