First Look: Cubs homestand with Giants, Nationals

by -

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs return to Wrigley Field to host the San Francisco Giants August 20-22 and the Washington Nationals August 23-25.

Starting Monday, August 19, and continuing through MLB Players’ Weekend August 23-25, the Cubs will celebrate “Players’ Week” by providing fans with new off-the-field video content that provides an in-depth look into players’ interests from their favorite music choices to the meaning behind their tattoos. Fans can get a sneak peek of the new “Players’ Week” content by viewing this teaser video and can tune in to www.youtube.com/cubs for full videos starting August 19. Players also will wear monochromatic black and white uniforms featuring their nicknames on the back of their jerseys during Players’ Weekend.

The "14 Days of Wrigley Field Fantics" summer promotion continues this homestand with "only-at-Wrigley Field-would-this-happen" experiences and giveaways, including playing catch on the field pregame with a Cubs player and preparing the field before a game with the Wrigley Field grounds crew. Last homestand fans had the opportunity to select an inning-break song with Gary Pressy, share a ballpark snack with Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg and receive a Javier Báez signed baseball. There are plenty of unforgettable moments for fans to experience at the Friendly Confines this August. Fans can learn more and secure their tickets at www.cubs.com/fantics.

Cubs fans can continue to win big while giving back to the Chicago community through the Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle program. There are two ways fans can purchase tickets for the Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle – inside the ballpark and online. Fans have the opportunity to purchase Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle tickets online starting at 11 a.m. CDT before the start of each Cubs home game by visiting www.cubs.com/raffle. The winning ticket will receive half of the net proceeds from the game's raffle ticket sales and the other half will benefit Cubs Charities. In accordance with state and local law, online Cubs Charities 50/50 Raffle tickets will only be available for purchase in the Chicago city limits. For more information, visit www.cubs.com/raffle.

Kyle Schwarber will host his Third Annual Block Party Friday, August 23, at Rockwell on the River. Net proceeds from the event will benefit Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes campaign, which provides resources to improve the quality of life for first responders and essential tools to better serve their communities. The event will feature delicious food, cocktails, live music, lawn games and an exclusive live and silent auction. Guests attending the event also will have the opportunity to interact with Cubs players and first responders. Limited tickets are available at www.cubs.com/blockparty.
