Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel was voted the National League Rookie of the Month for August, announced by MLB Network on Thursday.

This was the second Cubs rookie of the month award this season with Patrick Wisdom winning in June.

Schwindel batted .344 with 16 runs scored, eight doubles, a triple, six home runs and 18 RBI over 26 games played.

He had an extra-base hit in seven consecutive games from August 12th-18th and registered one hit in 15 of 16 games from August 3rd-18th.
