Cubs News: Javy Baez takes former Cub deep for his second homer |
El Mago is back for 2019!
Cubs shortstop Javier Baez hit his second homer in the fifth inning off of Jesse Chavez to put the Cubs up 7-2. It was a three-run blast in which he cranked the very first pitch from Chavez. Baez is the first Cubs players since Corey Patterson in 2003 to have multiple dingers on Opening Day. Baez is one homer away from having a Tuffy Rhoades historic game and on pace for an insane 320 homers this season. New year, same Javy.
