Cincinnati Reds standout first baseman Joey Votto was placed on the injured list on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19.
Votto will be out a minimum of 10 days due to protocols established by MLB.
Reds manager David Bell had the latest with Votto's status.
“He’s handling it as well as possible, no surprise there,” Bell said Wednesday. “We’re just hoping -- not only for his health, but from a baseball standpoint -- he can get back here as quick as he can because we’ve felt really good about where he was.”
Votto hit .226 with 11 homers and 22 RBIs last season.
CubsHQ would like to give out our best wishes for a full recovery to Mr. Votto.
