Report: Cubs working on possible trade for Mike Trout

by - Senior Editor -

The Anaheim Angels have been struggling during the early portion of the 2016 season as they have dropped ten of twelve with a mediocre record of 13-21.

There have been whispers of the Cubs interest in Angels' superstar center fielder Mike Trout.

“A source close to the situation tells us the Angels and Chicago Cubs are in early discussions to make a blockbuster trade for superstar outfielder Mike Trout," Terezowens.com said on Friday. "The 24-year-old outfielder is owed $15.25 million this year, $19.25 million next year and $33.25 million each of the following three years. The deal would be Mike Trout for 5 of the Chicago Cubs top prospects.”

Mike Trout told reporters recently that he loves playing for Anaheim and is laughing off all of the different trade rumors.

"I just laugh about it," Trout said. "I love where I’m at. I love Anaheim, the stadium, the organization and obviously the teammates. Teams go through injuries. That’s the way it is."

For the season, Trout is hitting .303 with seven homers and 23 RBIs.
