Cubs News: Stoneman Douglas names baseball field after Anthony Rizzo

by - Senior Editor -

On Monday, Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school named their baseball field after Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo.

Rizzo had previously donated $150,000 for lights for the baseball and softball fields for his alma mater.

"Proud of where I came from and honored to be a part of the new lights at MSD," Rizzo posted on social media. "Shout out to my brother Johnny who played a huge part in making this happen and everyone else who worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality. Go get 'em Eagles!"

The baseball season will start for Stoneman Douglas on Feb. 17.
