Most Chicago Cubs fans are still in a state of shock as the team traded away ace pitcher Yu Darvish and backup catcher Victor Caratini this week.

The ballclub confirmed the news on Tuesday night with a press release as the Cubs got four prospects and pitcher Zach Davies in return for the two fan favorites.

Caratini took to social media on Wednesday morning to say thank you to everyone.

"Thank you to the incredible Cubs organization, coaches, my teammates, and the FANS for such a memorable ride," he posted. I will always be grateful to have gotten my first big league opportunity wearing the Cubs uniform."

Caratini hit .250 with 15 homers and 73 RBI with the Cubs.

CubsHQ would like to thank Caratini for all the great memories the last few years as we covered him. Best of luck with the rest of your professional baseball career.
