WATCH: Cubs fan's beer tower collapses, announcers freak out

by - Senior Writer -

CUMBERLAND, Georgia — When your team is losing 8-0 in the top of the ninth, it can be hard to stay entertained at the ballpark, so one Chicago Cubs fan diverted his attention away from the Lovable Losers and focused on a much more worthwhile cause.

Using a makeshift collection of beer cans that one can only hope were not all consumed by him alone, the Cubs supporter constructed a towering pyramid in the stands at SunTrust Park. However, much like the Cubs, who suffered six errors on the evening in their 8-0 shutout loss to the Atlanta Braves, the aluminum engineer suffered bitter disappoint. Just one can away from building the perfect pyramid of empty beer cans, the bleacher bum was dismayed when his masterpiece came crashing down in front of his very eyes.

Adding to the hilarity of the situation was the fact that an ESPN camera was fixated upon the work of art, leading the onlooking ESPN broadcasters to screech in agony as they helplessly watched the tower collapse. For what is it worth, their reactions were warranted, as the beer pyramid brought far more excitement than the game itself.
