WATCH: Giants fans paddle around on inflatable swan in McCovey Cove

by - Senior Writer -

SAN FRANCISCO — The Chicago Cubs' television broadcast of the matchup at Oracle Park between the Cubs and the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday afternoon provided a group of intrepid Giants fans with plenty of air time. The Cubs' announcing team of Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies was captivated by the giant inflatable swan that the fans used as a vessel for navigating the waters of McCovey Cove behind the ballpark.

It is a fixture of the Giants' home games for fans in kayaks to paddle around in San Francisco Bay beyond Oracle Park in the hopes of snagging a home-run ball, but one group of young men took the pastime to an extreme by attempting to stay afloat on a blowup bird. Unfortunately, the swan sprung a leak during the strenuous journey toward the stadium, and the brazen sailors were forced to swallow their pride and return to shore.
