WATCH: Hail comes down in droves at Wrigley Field

CHICAGO — The Chicago weather was far from pleasant on Tuesday afternoon. Thankfully, the Chicago Cubs' matchup with the Atlanta Braves was scheduled for nighttime because a hail storm would have preempted an afternoon start.

Hail fell in droves at the Friendly Confines on Tuesday, with footage posted by the Cubs' Twitter account showing pellets of hail falling in such a large volume that it appeared as if a thick fog hung over the park. A hot, humid day in Chi-Town made for ideal hail conditions. Fortunately, the nasty weather was all gone by the time that the game started.
