WATCH: Heyward drills 3-run blast to cap off epic inning

by - Senior Writer -

Just three at-bats after Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez jacked a 3-run blast to tie the Los Angeles Dodgers up at 3-3 on Wednesday, Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward capped off the sixth-inning barrage with yet another 3-run blast. Sending a liner 390 feet into the bleachers beyond center field, Heyward tabbed his fifth home run of the year and put the Cubs ahead 6-3.

Dodgers reliever Scott Alexander was victimized by the dinger, with Heyward nailing a sinker thrown by Alexander on a 2-2 count. Heyward's bomb was scorched off the bat at 105 miles per hour. The lined shot barely cleared the wall and landed in the basket above the ivy. Both homers in the bottom of the sixth came with two outs.
