WATCH: Heyward swats game-tying opposite-field dinger |
Welcoming himself back to the lineup after missing Monday's game, Chicago Cubs right fielder
Jason Heyward smacked a leadoff blast to start the second inning on Tuesday. Knotting the Houston Astros up 1-1 at Minute Maid Park, Heyward slapped his eighth home run of the year to the opposite field.
The high drive cleared the wall in left field for a 361-foot round-tripper. Leaving the bat at 97 miles per hour, the blast had a launch angle of 27 degrees and came on a changeup thrown by Astros starter Corbin Martin. Heyward now has 20 RBI on the season, and his eight homers equal his entire home-run total from last season. J-Hey gets us started with a solo homer! #EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/GgcrBUytS9
