WATCH: Highlights from Cubs' second walk-off win in a row versus Marlins

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO, Ill. — For the second consecutive night, the Chicago Cubs (21-13) defeated the Miami Marlins (10-26) on a walk-off home run at Wrigley Field. On Wednesday, right fielder Jason Heyward played the role of hero in the third installment of the 4-game set, with the veteran coming through with his first hit of the series on an 11th-inning solo homer.

The 370-foot blast to the opposite field marked Heyward's second career walk-off dinger and sixth career walk-off RBI. The round-tripper in the bottom of the 11th handed the Cubs a 3-2 win over the Marlins and came after Chicago third baseman Kris Bryant registered a walk-off 3-run bomb to lift the Cubs to a 5-2 triumph versus the Fish on Tuesday.
