WATCH: Highlights of Cubs' high-scoring win versus Mets

by - Senior Writer -

NEW YORK — In a tale of two games, the Chicago Cubs (71-61) jumped out to an early 9-run advantage before engaging in a grueling duel with the New York Mets (67-65) at Citi Field on Wednesday. Moving to 2-0 through the first two matchups of the 3-game series, the Cubs hit three home runs and won 10-7.

The Cubs shellacked Mets ace Noah Syndergaard from start to finish of his woeful 3-inning outing. After taking a 10-1 lead in the top of the third, Chicago was held scoreless the rest of the way, but Cubs pitching was effective enough to prevent a Mets comeback from coming to fruition.
