WATCH: Highlights of Cubs' win over Brewers, including Yu Darvish's stellar outing

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO — Recording 19 outs before giving up a hit, Chicago Cubs (13-3) ace Yu Darvish was on his A-game against the Milwaukee Brewers (7-10) on Thursday. Pitching seven innings of one-run ball, Darvish fanned 11 opposing batters and was taken for just one hit, which was a solo home run.

The Cubs defeated the Brewers 4-2 in the opener of a four-game series at Wrigley Field. Kyle Schwarber went yard for the third time this summer, and Ian Happ went 2-for-3 at the plate. Chicago's 13-3 record marks the best start to a season for a Cubs team since 1907, when the North Siders won their first World Series.
