SAN FRANCISCO — Coming through in the clutch, Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward knotted the San Francisco Giants up at four runs apiece on Tuesday night. By driving in a run with an RBI single hit past the second baseman, Heyward notched his 44th RBI.
Following a pitching change with two outs in the top of the eighth at Oracle Park, Heyward plated Kris Bryant from third with a base knock off Giants reliever Tony Watson. Bryant set up the scoring play by doubling earlier in the frame.
