PHOENIX — Coming through in the clutch on Friday, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward stepped up to the plate as a pinch hitter with two outs in the top of the seventh and drilled a two-run tater. The 384-footer at Chase Field marked the second dinger of the inning, as third baseman Patrick Wisdom slugged a solo bomb with one out in the frame.

Heyward's sixth long ball of the season, the homer plated left fielder Ian Happ and increased the Cubs' lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks to 5-1. Reliever Matt Peacock, who also gave up Wisdom's aforementioned jack, was taken deep on an 88.4-mph slider. The round-tripper carried out to right-center at 94.7 mph and 28 degrees.
