CHICAGO — Coming through in the clutch, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward drove in what proved to be the winning run against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday. Providing the Cubs with a 4-3 lead at Wrigley Field, Heyward plated the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth.

Coming against Pirates reliever Kyle Crick, the critical base knock scored Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant from second base. The 2-out single to left field enabled Bryant, who slid in ahead of the tag at the plate, to come home, thereby providing Heyward with his 38th RBI of the year and setting up the eventual final score of 4-3.
