PITTSBURGH — With his 21st home run of the season, Chicago Cubs shortstop put the Cubs on the scoreboard against the Pittsburgh Pirates with a solo blast out to right-center on Monday. Occurring in the top of the second at PNC Park, the jack carried 402 feet and decreased the Cubs' deficit to three runs.

The opposite-field blast came on a fastball thrown over the plate by Pirates starter Trevor Williams. It left the bat at 101 miles per hour and sported a launch angle of 27 degrees. Baez made the score 4-1 in favor of the Pirates with the round-tripper, which increased his 2019 RBI total to 57.
