CHICAGO — After Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo hit a go-ahead grand slam earlier in the game, Cubs shortstop Javier Baez came through with a go-ahead home run of his own in the bottom of the fifth on Friday. Crushing a 401-footer to the opposite-field, Baez put the Cubs up 5-4 over the San Diego Padres at Wrigley Field.

The dinger to right field left the bat at 107 miles per hour, and it boasted a steep launch angle of 38 degrees. Baez's 23rd long ball of the season, the solo shot came on a curveball thrown by Padres starter Eric Lauer. Baez eyeballed his handiwork as it left the yard before beginning his trot around the bases. He now has 64 RBI on the year.
