WATCH: Javier Baez effortlessly pulls off difficult web gem |
CINCINNATI — Showing off his range, Chicago Cubs shortstop
Javier Baez raced behind second base in order to field a hard-hit chopper and proceeded to fire a perfect throw to first base for an impressive out on Friday. The web gem came in the second inning of the Cubs' matchup against the Cincinnati Reds.
Racing to his left on the Great American Ball Park infield, Baez slid on the dirt in order to glove the baseball before making a smooth spin move that enabled him to toss the ball over to Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo. In typical "El Mago" fashion, the difficult play seemed to be pulled off rather effortlessly. Smooth like Javy. pic.twitter.com/RXFyOVge59
