WATCH: Javier Baez goes 'oppo' with home run hit off Clayton Kershaw |
LOS ANGELES — With his 18th home run of the season,
Javier Baez put the Chicago Cubs on the scoreboard against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Going "oppo," the shortstop swatted a solo shot to right field off ace Clayton Kershaw in the top of the fourth.
The two-out blast made the score 6-1 and marked the first legitimate blemish against Kershaw on the evening. Lined off the bat at Dodger Stadium, the jack sailed into the seats at 106.9 mph and 21 degrees. Kershaw was taken deep on a 90.3-mph four-seamer. Baez now has 47 RBIs on the year.
